Golf at Golf Club KL City Centre - 2 Jalan Kia Peng (bottom of Novotel Hotel), Park at Pavilion or at Novotel Hotel, Thursday, 8 April 2010, 10:00 a.m., RM 128/hour/public simulator – up to 8 people per simulator, RM 228/hour/VIP simulator – up to 4 people per simulator.

This month we’ll experience the new golf simulators at the Golf Club KL City Centre.  The morning starts with a welcome drink of cranberry mocktail and afterward beer is available at happy hour prices of RM 17.25 nett per glass.  We’ll practice and play novelty competitions on the stimulators including longest drive and nearest to the pin.  RSVP to the AAM office by Wednesday, 7 April 2010.  For additional information, contact Jody Jackson at jodyejackson@hotmail.com.

Come join us for Tuesday Tennis every other Tuesday morning. The venue changes depending on numbers, but we typically play at Seri Hening or Raintree.  Please email Sharon Sanchez at sharoncsanchez@hotmail.com if you are interested in playing.  Location to be finalized for each day depending on number of players.

All Souls Day – Ching Ming With Angie Ng - Tuesday, 13 April 2010, 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m., Meet at side entrance of Nikko Hotel at Jalan Ampang, (nearest Putra train station Ampang Park), Member RM 90, non-member RM 105

This cultural and feng shui tour to Sg. Besi and Nilai Memorial Park will explore the Chinese belief in ancestral worship and life after death.  You will learn about the elaborate funeral rites and interesting stories such as hell notes and house warming for the dead.  Ching Ming, or All Souls Day, falls in early April and is celebrated for 20 days.  The tour will start with a visit to the old traditional Chinese graves in Sg. Besi.  It will then continue with a drive to visit modern graves in Nilai Memorial Park which is built on 200 acres of excellent feng shui burial ground.  The tour continues with a visit to plots that are single, double, and family sized and also plots which are for Buddhists, Christians and free thinkers.  The tour concludes at Millionaires' Row with some family plots costing over RM 2 million! Wear comfortable clothes (no sexy shorts or low cut shirts) and good walking shoes.  It is recommended to bring a hat or umbrella and drinking water.  The price included the bus transfers, services of an experienced English speaking guide and a Chinese lunch (non-halal).  RSVP to the AAM office by Friday, 9 April 2010.

Does the thought of pasta, pizza, soup or salad make your mouth water?  Have you ever found yourself contemplating the taste or presentation of a good beef carpaccio?  Do you enjoy a glass of wine with your meal?  All of this and more will be served by personale amichevole at this month's choice for Lunch Bunch.  A reservation will be made in the name of AAM.  To ensure that sufficient room will be set aside for us in this popular restaurant, please RSVP to the AAM office by Wednesday, 14 April.

Know Your Local Vegetables with Chef Judy Loh - Wednesday, 21 April 2010, 10:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m., AAM Clubhouse, Members RM 50, non-members RM 65, Minimum: 10 persons

The myriad of fresh vegetables available in Kuala Lumpur can be overwhelming.  What are some of the unusual products and how do you cook them?  Chef Judy will be sharing her knowledge on local greens and other vegetables, as well as demonstrating some of her recipes.  Lunch will follow the demonstration, which is included in the price.  Please RSVP to the AAM office by Friday, 16 April 2010.
